Chemeketa Community College Bldg 40

Location: Salem, Oregon

Building 40 has been the site for the College’s Facilities Department for quite some time. The original buildings consisted of two pre-engineered steel buildings which were energy consumers and left the Facilities Department considering itself the unwanted step child of a modern Community College Campus. The original 3,200sf pre-engineered building was demolished to make way for the new building while the newer 6,000sf pre-engineered building was remodeled as a warehouse and staging area for maintenance and operations staff.
The new building is a 2 story office and training structure with a high performance skin and building system designed to show case energy efficiency and technology on the campus. Finish materials, both exterior and interior are Spartan, but selected for good value. An LED lighting package was used throughout for light quality and energy performance.
