The repositioning AIA discussion has heated up following this year’s Grassroots conference. At Grassroots last year, AIA National introduced us to consultants LaPlaca Cohen and Pentagram. The initial impetus for the study was a desire to improve the AIA’s communication to the public about what architects do. As we often discover, half the battle in developing an excellent solution involves framing the question properly, and in this instance, the consultants proposed that the “more critical issue was helping the AIA rediscover its purpose.”
